“Becca and the entire Sklepowicz family have poured their heart and soul into this magical place. Their thoughtful touches and excellent style pair incredibly well with their kindness and hospitality. My husband and I were more than honored to have The Henry House host our wedding, and will forever recommend this place for events. Becca is also incredibly kind to allow me to teach yoga on her beautifully manicured, landscaped property!!! What more can you ask for?!” ~ Sam
“Wow! What a special, historic, unique and beautiful place! A real treat to stay here. The hosts could not be more gracious or accommodating and the house offers endless comfort, amenities and special touches. The back patio and outdoor fireplace is amazing and the house is inviting, super clean – and it was fun to explore and enjoy its many rooms. If this home is available in your search – book it! It is a rare and special opportunity to go way back in American history and enjoy period charm, elegance and beauty – with hosts that love caring for and sharing it!” ~ Nancy
“Our daughter had her wedding on the beautiful grounds of The Henry House July 2020. Becca, Denise, Tom and Grandpa Wally went out of their way to make the grounds absolutely impeccable for the ceremony and reception including fresh plantings and mulch the day before the Big Day to extra Edison lights strung above the slate patio. Becca was on top of all of the details and responded quickly to any concern. The Sklepowicz family was so accommodating; I would highly recommend The Henry House for your next celebration!” ~ Tammy
“I had my wedding at The Henry House about a month ago. The Sklepowicz family went above and beyond to make sure it was the perfect day! The grounds were beautifully kept and the corn crib converted bar was a hit! My wife and I couldn’t have been happier and will have so many amazing memories! I would definitely recommend this place for any event!” ~Patrick
“An idyllic historical setting in rural Vermont. We came up for a few days over New Years and had a wonderful time relaxing and unwinding in Denise’s lovely period house from the Revolutionary War. House was amazing, comfortable, and scenic. Area was beautiful and full of skiing and other outdoor pursuits. Highly recommend the Henry House!” ~Louis
“The Henry House is a beautiful venue for any event! My girlfriend and I attended a wedding there and it was amazing. The owners take pride in their property and care about their guests’ needs, and it shows. The fireplace on the patio, the heart shaped pond, the location along the Walloomsac and the beautiful historic house itself all work together to create a truly magical experience. 20/10 would recommend!” ~ Adam
“This was simply the best AirBnB experience I’ve had yet. All the historical charm of a place built in 1769 with no lack of comfort. Loved the house and all the charm it had. Stayed with some family over Thanksgiving and it could not have been a better experience!” ~Myles
“Denise, Tom, and Rebecca are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and put in so many personal touches…our minds were blown! They knew I was a Shirley Jackson fan and placed some of her books around the house. I have stayed in many AirBnb’s, but this was the best experience we ever had. Our favorite part of the house was the wood burning fireplace and outdoor fireplace. The beds are comfortable and the property is beautiful. You couldn’t ask for better hosts!” ~Kayla
“Denise, Tom, and Skip were all wonderful in making us feel welcomed in The Henry House. We were celebrating our 15yr Anniversary. Our wonderful hosts surprised us with a cake and card! The house has everything you need and more! The history of the home is incredible and a very rare gem! I highly recommend this unique and quiet getaway! There’s also amazing trout fishing just across the street under the covered bridge!!” ~Matthew
“Where can I begin? Our extended family stayed at the Henry House to celebrate a holiday with our daughter, who attends Bennington College. The images of the house, and its amazing location, made us look forward to our visit – but didn’t prepare us for the experience of being there. The house was fantastic: comfortable, extremely well-appointed (even for ambitious cooking and entertaining!), and super interesting (it is 250 years old!). The setting is gorgeous. We’ve visited Bennington before, but until now did not have a sense of just how beautiful it is in that part of Vermont. There are trails right on the property: you only have to walk five minutes into the backyard to feel completely one with nature! Denise and Tom were generous, responsive hosts, and could not have been more accommodating. We are already planning our next trip to Henry House. Best Airbnb experience we’ve had, by far.” ~Barbara
“Staying at the Henry House was absolutely incredible. We arrived to a perfectly maintained house with beautiful views of Vermont. We were greeted by Skip who was absolutely lovely and gave us a tour of the property. Denise and family were great at getting us set up and then giving us our space. The house itself is absolutely amazing, truly felt like staying in Vermont, but with modern touches like Wi-Fi in every single room, smart TVs, laundry on premises, and every possible amenity included. The house itself has been restored to amazing condition, with very comfortable beds and quiet rooms despite the age of the building. Overall it was a perfect combination of rustic and modern for our family. The property itself is conveniently located and very close to the supermarket, a variety of restaurants, and even the local beverage outlet. Leading up to our trip Denise was very communicative and super helpful, again checking in to make sure we were well informed but also in no way annoying. All in all an absolutely amazing stay and one we hope to return to in the near future!” ~Tommy
“The Henry House was a wonderful place to stay in a great location with easy access to Bennington and Manchester. Plenty of room inside and out with a covered bridge across the road – quintessential Vermont! There is plenty of room for everyone with a pub for conversations, watch TV or share a toast with friends. The kitchen is well equipped and we shopped at local farm stands and farmers markets for fresh vegetables and cheeses – lots of fun. Our Clumber Spaniel, Maddie, didn’t want to leave. The hosts, Denise, Tom, and Rebecca, were responsive to any questions we had but not intrusive and there is a wealth of information on their Airbnb site. Stay at the Henry House, you won’t be disappointed!” ~Susan
“The historic Henry House is, without question, the top choice for a wedding and event venue in Southern Vermont. The meticulously restored 18th century Inn is exquisite. While maintaining its early American charm, the inn has all of the modern conveniences and comforts of home. The grounds with the many perennial gardens and outbuildings are spectacular and make the perfect backdrop for a wedding or any social event. The large stone patio with its massive stone fireplace and the early New England corncrib that has been transformed into an outdoor bar, are amazing. It is the perfect spot to relax and mingle with a cocktail or to dance the night away. The owners are kind, thoughtful and accommodating, working closely with their guests to create a unique and unforgettable experience. Whatever the event, the Henry House will not disappoint!” ~ Mardi
“If there were more than five stars, we would definitely give them to Denise, Tom, and Rebecca for The Henry House. The house is historic and fabulous with all the fabulous historic touches while still providing all the modern amenities–dishwasher, washer and dryer, charging station for any phone or device, 100 channel TV, and plenty of hot water for everyone. Our family party of eight ranged in age from 3 month to 97 years. We were all comfortable and happy at the Henry House. We especially appreciated the first floor bedrooms and bathroom for my mother. Everything was sparkling clean and the kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and appliances to be able to prepare pretty much any meal you might want to make. Denise and Tom are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts. Tom was there to meet us on our arrival to show us around, explain where things were and how they worked. The fridge was stocked with juice, milk, butter, eggs, bread, bagels and cream cheese. They provided a tea caddy with at least a dozen options and a Keurig. for coffee. It would have been possible to arrive and not have to run out to a market for groceries until after breakfast the next day. They even had a bottle of wine and cheese and crackers awaiting us. The location is ideal for seeing the sights in this area. In addition to all that Bennington has to offer, we also made a trip to Manchester for some outlet shopping and a trip to the Clark in Williamstown, MA for the Renoir exhibit. We also took in the Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit in North Bennington. There wasn’t anything playing at the Oldcastle Theater during our visit, but we have taken in some equity actors’ live theater on past visits to the area. Lovely home, lovely hosts, lovely area. We stayed at the Henry House for four nights and all wished it could have been longer. We left with fond memories and a strong desire to return. Thank you.” ~Moira & Fred
